A: ChicSpectator.com was launched in March 2011 as a site aimed at helping women demystify the world of sports and gaming. The site provides accessible sports information that is written in a women’s voice. The site provides relevant and meaningful sports news, with a women’s voice and from a female perspective, but is open to anyone interested in learning more. ChicSpectator.com was created by Cincinnati residents Susan Baba, Clara Disi, Purvi Mehta, and Kim Price.
Q: Why do you think women need a place like this to go?
A: Women are a vibrant and active force in the sports world, but many women find that, while they enjoy watching sports, they are not the most educated about the inner working of the sports world. ChicSpectator.com seeks to speak to women, in a non-derogatory fashion, to help them become more immersed in the sporting world and become more active spectators.

A: ChicSpectator.com includes everything from sports basics to the most up to date sports news and commentary, all in one convenient and easy to navigate website.

A: Of course! ChicSpectator.com is for anyone with basic to moderate knowledge of sports, who is interested in learning more. The site was created by women and seeks to feature articles that are most interesting to female sports fans, but is open to men and women of all ages.

A: We are sports fans, but certainly not sports experts. Reader participation is crucial to helping us ensure that the page has the most accurate and up to date sports information. Readers can comment on each post and are encouraged to send updates and story ideas to chicspectator@gmail.com.

A: We have chosen to focus initially on the top five sports in the US – football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and golf.
