Who’s Behind Chic Spectator?

I’m a 26 year old Cincinnatian and a Buckeye fan, through and through. I was a pretty late bloomer, when it comes to sports appreciation. I was totally that annoying girl who talked through the entire super bowl, except for the commercials, and went to the Red’s games for the great fireworks. I had a life altering transformation, though, when I went to my first professional football game a few years ago. The stadium was roaring, the crowd was cheering, the entire place was full of energy and I couldn’t believe I had missed out on this my whole life. I read the program, cover to cover, and took my own little crash course during the game. The experience taught me that sports are far more enjoyable when you know what the heck you’re watching!! Hope you find our site helpful and fun. Thanks so much for checking us out!

I was born and half bred in Nigeria. I’ve spent the other half of my life in Cincinnati. I am an Alumnus of The Ohio State University and a huge fan of the football program.  As an avid sports fan chicspectator.com provides an outlet for me to help women who, like myself 10 years ago, did not know anything or have any interest in sports. The 2003 national champion (Ohio State vs. Miami) was the first football game I watched and understood. It took me many years of research and Q&A as I watched with friends to understand football enough to watch a game and enjoy it. During my naïve days, I just could not understand why anyone would pay to watch a game or spend hours watching one. My hope is that chicspectator.com will help women as they learn about sports to impress, educate or get a sales deal.

I am a 26 year old transplant from Chicago! As a Michigan State alumni, my love for basketball is beyond words. Let’s just say March is the most important month of the year! Basketball was always a part of my life, as I grew up watching the Bulls. Players like Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman made the court a magical place. We hope this site can bring a similar form of enjoyment for the sport of your choice! Thank you so much for checking us out!

Why do I love sports so much? I was lucky that hand-eye coordination came easy to me. But beyond that, I have so many memories from my childhood that wouldn’t be possible without some sort of ball, racquet, or bat that I really can’t remember a time where sports were not part of my life. As I prepare for my greatest challenge and blessing so far, becoming a mom to a little girl, I can take what I have gained from playing sports and instill some of these qualities in my daughter. Although she will grow up with her own memories (my husband and I actually had to sit down and compromise on which Ohio teams she would cheer for – he is an avid Cincinnati fan and I torture myself with Cleveland sports year after year), hopefully she will see that it doesn’t matter if she is a girl – she can always play with the big boys!
